Available Works: Eilen Itzel Mena
Eilen Itzel Mena is an Afro-Dominican American artist, writer and community organiser from the South Bronx, now based in London.
Her multidisciplinary practice explores joy, ancestry and spirituality within the African Diaspora and Latin America. Mena also employs vibrant colour and expressive forms as tools to challenge narratives of trauma and social invisibility. Working across painting, sculpture, printmaking and performance, Mena blends abstraction and figuration to create emotionally resonant spaces where body, spirit and memory converge. A graduate of UCL Slade and recipient of the Adrian Carruthers Studio Prize, she is currently an artist-in-residence at ACME and collaborates with global artist collective Honey and Smoke.
