Bolanle Tajudeen Featured in Frieze Roundtable on London’s Emerging Art Ecosystem

Bolanle Contemporary founder Bolanle Tajudeen was featured in Frieze Issue 254 (October 2025) as part of the roundtable “Emergent Currents: London Institutions and Emerging Artists”, alongside Peter Davies, Rose Easton, Maggie Matić and Matthew Noel-Tod.

In the discussion, Tajudeen spoke about the importance of creating meaningful support structures for artists beyond formal education. She emphasised the need for sustained care, time and environments that allow artists to develop at their own rhythm and to take creative risks without the pressure of constant production.

“One way we can support future generations is by creating more residency programmes and opportunities to help graduates continue developing their practice beyond formal education,” she noted.

Tajudeen reflected on the value of mentorship and residencies in bridging the gap between art school and professional practice, underscoring how thoughtful, long-term support enables artists to experiment, rest and refine their vision. Her remarks reaffirm Bolanle Contemporary’s belief that nurturing artists requires patience, trust and a commitment to the slower, unseen processes that shape meaningful careers.
